DIA-AID 1 - Extension Studies
Israel
Patients who completed 24 months of therapy in the DIA-AID phase III clinical study and still maintain residual beta cell function are eligible to enter an extension study where they will be treated with DiaPep277® regardless of their original cohort. This is an open label study where patients will be treated with 1 mg of the drug every three months for two years. The study has been initiated at three medical centers in Israel.
Europe
The study is an open-label extension study offering patients who participated and completed the previous 901 Study to continue treatment with DiaPep277® and clinical follow-up, for an additional 2 years. Only patients who completed the previous 2-year study who still have beta-cell function above a threshold level will be eligible for this extension study.
